From City Life to a Dream Farm: A Journey to the Green Heart of France
Amid the gentle hills and lush fields of the Midi-Pyrénées lies our Demeter farm in Traversères, a living testament to our ongoing journey and deep connection to nature.
Founded in 2020, the farm represents for us, Kasimir and Lieselotte, not only an expansion of our agricultural activities but also the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream:
to live on the land we cultivate and to maintain a direct connection to the soil that nourishes our plants.
Here, on our little piece of earth where life thrives in its simplest forms, we continue our family tradition of sustainable farming. Our life in the countryside, which we knew before, has found a deeper, more conscious meaning in this new home in France.
A Longing for Authenticity
Why We Founded Our Demeter Farm
Our longing for authenticity and a deeper connection with nature led us, Kasimir and Lieselotte, on a journey that resulted in the founding of our Demeter farm in Traversères. It was this inner calling that inspired us to create a place where we not only cultivate the land, but also maintain a direct and nourishing relationship with it.
Our path to France was guided by the desire to expand our possibilities and create something that was not feasible in Brandenburg. We chose the historic region of Gascony, known for its rich biodiversity and progressive organic farming culture. On six hectares of organic farmland, we have created a new home for ourselves and our plants — supported by a climate that allows for longer growing seasons and a life in seclusion, free from pesticide exposure from neighboring fields.
Our Vision for the farm in Traversères is to create a place where people come together to actively contribute to the preservation of our Earth. We aim to establish a training center for sustainable cultivation, gardening, and farming, serving as a home for everyone who wishes to live and work in harmony with nature. Through education, knowledge sharing, and the creation of networks for partnerships, we seek to contribute to a collective and radical rethinking of agriculture.
We dreamed of a life in which every day is a dialogue with nature, where we understand its language and approach it with gratitude and respect. In Traversères, we found not only a new home for ourselves and our herbs but also a community that shares and supports our values. This step was for us an act of self-realization and a commitment to a world where sustainable agriculture and care for our planet are at the center of everything we do.
The Birth of a Biodynamic Paradise
In Traversères, we found six hectares of fertile soil, ready to be discovered and cultivated. This land, embraced by the mild climate of the Midi-Pyrénées, allows for longer harvest periods and offers us a life free from the burden of pesticides from neighboring fields. Our farm is a biodynamic paradise, where we carefully work the soil by hand to preserve its structure and promote a healthy microorganism environment. We consciously avoid artificial fertilizers and pesticides and integrate wild herbs into our cultivation to support biodiversity and maintain harmony with the surrounding nature. The incorporation of wild herbs, along with the use of permaculture, Terra Preta, and effective microorganisms (EM), reflects our commitment to a vibrant and healthy soil ecosystem.

Our biodynamic approach is based on respect for the natural rhythm of nature. We follow cosmic cycles to determine the ideal timing for sowing, caring for, and harvesting our plants.
This practice not only supports the growth of healthy, strong plants but also fosters a deep connection with the earth and the cosmos.
Soil care is at the heart of our work. By using biodynamic preparations made from natural substances such as herbs, minerals, and cow manure, we activate and revitalize the soil.
These preparations are applied at specific times to enhance soil fertility and promote vital plant growth.

Our sheep, goats, and chickens not only contribute to fertilizing the soil but also help maintain the cultivated landscape. They naturally loosen the soil and control weeds, minimizing the need for machinery and preserving soil structure.
