Artemisia annua Alcohol-Free Herbal Extract Based on Glycerin Our alcohol-free Artemisia annua herbal extract is made from freshly harvested leaves and prepared as a concentrated tincture (ratio 1:3). Before bottling into the 100 ml Miron violet glass bottle, it is regularly shaken by hand and allowed to mature for at least three months. Our product is 100% natural. Artemisia annua Annual Mugwort Artemisia annua, also known as annual mugwort, is a plant species of the genus Artemisia. It originally comes from the temperate regions of Asia, particularly China, but is now cultivated in many parts of the world. Annual mugwort is distinguished by its characteristic fragrance, often described as aromatic and refreshing. Its scent combines spicy, herbal, and slightly sweet notes that appeal to many people. The plant grows best in temperate to subtropical climates and prefers well-drained soil and sufficient sunlight. It can be cultivated both in pots and in gardens. Regular watering and removing weeds help ensure optimal development. Product advice and orders: +49(0)3327 4372 090 Organic Vegetable Glycerin as Extraction Medium Organic glycerin, also known as vegetable glycerol, is a transparent liquid with a viscous consistency and a mild, slightly sweet taste. The professional extraction and processing method ensures an optimal and safe composition for cosmetic and food products. With a high purity of 99% and organic quality derived from vegetable oils, it is an ideal complement for various types of organic products. One biological method of producing glycerin involves using organic flaxseed. Organic vegetable glycerin is obtained through the hydrolysis of vegetable oils and fats. It was reportedly discovered over 200 years ago by the Swedish pharmacist and chemist Scheele during a saponification process using olive oil. In production, oil-rich vegetable fats are mixed under pressure with a strong alkali, separating the glycerin from the fatty acids. Due to its properties similar to alcohol — being soluble in both fats and water — glycerin is ideal for extracting a wide variety of plant compounds. In addition to its preservative qualities, glycerin also has hygroscopic properties and a mild antimicrobial effect. Thanks to its organic quality and proper dosage, organic glycerin can be safely used in food products. Our organic glycerin is made exclusively from certified organic raw materials and is palm-oil free. Application – Artemisia annua Please note that Artemisia annua may currently not be sold as a food product in the EU according to the Novel Food Regulation. For use as a room aroma. Open the 100 ml Miron violet glass bottle and place the desired number of fragrance sticks into the bottle neck — the number of sticks determines the intensity of the aroma in the room. Ingredients Pure vegetable glycerin from organic flaxseed, purified water, annual mugwort leaves*.*from our own cultivation. Storage Store tightly closed in a cool, dry, and dark place. Artemisia annua leaves Artemisia annua (annual mugwort) is cultivated on our own fields in France and processed in our manufactory in Germany. The Artemisia annua leaves are hand-selected and gently dried immediately after harvest using a special process. This helps preserve the plant’s valuable constituents as well as its natural color. Artemisia annua leaves: The most valuable parts of the plant Artemisia annua leaves: The ideal harvest time is shortly before flowering, when the leaves are at their most valuable. Natural quality product: Our plants are cultivated and processed without chemical substances or additives. Carefully handcrafted: From seed germination and plant care to harvesting and processing, Artemisia annua is handled in-house by hand. This allows us to guarantee a product of exceptional purity and quality. Artemisia annua plants are grown on our Demeter farm in France. We place great value on sustainability and natural cultivation methods. With our healthy, sustainable approach, we ensure we can offer the highest quality. For our products, we primarily use Artemisia annua leaves. Ideally, the leaves are harvested shortly before flowering, when they are most valuable. The leaves are freshly harvested and gently dried at temperatures below 30°C. This helps preserve valuable constituents as well as the plant’s color. Our product is 100% natural. Information & Use Please note that, under the EU Novel Food Regulation, Artemisia annua may currently not be sold as a food in the EU. Artemisia annua leaves are excellent for incense burning. For best results, we recommend the following steps: Prepare a fireproof incense bowl by sprinkling a little sand inside. Carefully light an incense charcoal from the side over a flame. Once the spark has traveled about halfway through the charcoal and it starts to glow, place it on the sand in the bowl. Wait until the spark has spread through the entire charcoal. Then sprinkle about three pinches of Artemisia annua leaves on top. Gently waft the rising smoke through the room using a fan or feather. When the herbal scent fades, carefully remove the residue from the charcoal with a knife and add fresh leaves. Ensure good ventilation by opening a window to let the smoke disperse. After burning, extinguish the charcoal with water or let it cool completely before disposing of it. A typical incense session lasts between ten and twenty minutes, depending on the amount used. Enjoy the relaxing and soothing atmosphere created by the incense smoke. Ingredients Annual mugwort leaves (Artemisia annua)*.*from our own cultivation. Content 100 ml Artemisia annua Forte botanical extract Artemisia annua: annual mugwort Artemisia annua—also known as annual mugwort—is a remarkable plant with a fascinating history and many distinctive characteristics. Originally native to the steppe regions of Central Asia, this resilient herb has since established itself in many parts of the world. Adaptability and growth The plant is highly adaptable and thrives in a range of conditions. It prefers sunny locations and copes well with poor soils. In the wild, it is often found along riverbanks or on fallow land, where it can quickly form large stands. Artemisia annua can reach heights of up to two metres and develops finely divided, aromatic leaves. Its small yellow-green flowers appear in late summer and are wind-pollinated. The plant produces a large number of tiny seeds that are easily dispersed by wind and water. Traditional use and modern interest In traditional medicine across various cultures, Artemisia annua has played an important role for centuries. It is particularly valued in Chinese traditions and has been used in many contexts. In recent years, it has also attracted modern scientific interest, especially because of its distinctive plant constituents. Aromatic qualities The characteristic scent of Artemisia annua—often described as herbal and camphor-like—also makes it an interesting culinary and aromatic herb. In some regions, it is used to flavour beverages or as a seasoning in cooking. Growing it at home For home gardeners, Artemisia annua is an exciting option to cultivate a historically significant and versatile plant. However, it can spread vigorously under favourable conditions, so controlled cultivation is recommended.
