It grows along sunny roadsides and meadows; its finely feathered leaves and small white flowers are typical of the plant. In folk medicine, it is considered one of the most valuable helpers for digestive complaints and is also appreciated as a “women’s herb.” The flowering herb is used and is rich in: Essential oils (including chamazulene, cineole) Bitter substances (e.g. achillin) Tannins Flavonoids & coumarins In traditional herbal practice, yarrow is used in many ways both internally and externally – for example in teas, tinctures, oils or baths. It belongs to the daisy family and commonly grows in Europe in sunny locations such as meadows and roadsides. The flowering herb is used and is rich in essential oils, bitter substances, tannins and flavonoids. Traditionally, yarrow is used in drops, teas, ointments or sitz baths, among other forms. Our yarrow stands out due to its high content of natural proazulenes – the precursors of chamazulene, which is known for its special plant power. These sensitive compounds are largely preserved through our gentle production in alcohol or oil – a mark of quality that makes our tincture and oil especially distinctive. The yarrow salve from the Kasimir & Lieselotte herbal manufactory is a gentle skin care product for cracked lips or hands, sunburn, minor burns and insect bites. It combines the traditional use of yarrow with nourishing salve bases in order to support irritated skin as gently as possible. It is commonly found in Europe in sunny locations, meadows and roadsides. For our salve, we use the flowering herb, which is especially rich in: essential oils, bitter substances and tannins, flavonoids and mucilage. In skin care, these ingredients are traditionally valued for soothing, protecting and nourishing the skin. The salve is applied externally to the affected areas, for example to cracked skin, after sun exposure, for minor burns or insect bites. It can be used several times a day, depending on need and tolerance. Especially valuable thanks to proazulene & azulene Our yarrow salve combines the best of two worlds: it contains both proazulene-rich yarrow herb and a proportion of pure yarrow essential oil containing azulene. This exceptional combination makes the salve especially rich in active compounds and intensive in its care. While the gently processed herb retains its natural plant substances in their original form, the essential oil complements the formulation with valuable chamazulene – a blue active compound traditionally valued for its skin-soothing properties.
